Secret Avengers #27 First Look

Here's some pages from issue 27 of the Secret Avengers, a AvX tie-in. No speech bubbles but it looks like Thor's giving Captain Britain a pep talk after they got their backsides whipped by the Phoenix force, and War Machine, in the background looks in bad shape.

The blurb connected to this issue goes something like this... 'Captain Marvel is reborn to unite all Kree across the galaxy! But, as the Kree rally - Thor and his team must face off against Captain Marvel, The Protector & Ms. Marvel in an attempt to halt the Phoenix Force! Want to know mysterious connection the Kree have with the Phoenix Force?' - Basically buy the comic when it's released in May.

This run on Secret Avengers with this cast of characters seems a lot more interesting than the big fight back on Earth. What a great team, Thor, Ms. Marvel, Vision, Beast, Captain Britain, Protector and War Machine. Give me this Avengers team over the others any day, and the story, although connected to the AvX thing, seems to have a more interesting plot, not just one big fist fight.

Still not sure if Captain Britain fits as an Avenger though. Quite a few recent Avengers just don't sit right under the Avenger roof, obviously in my opinion. Hero's such as Daredevil, Spider-Man, Wolverine, The Thing, Doctor Strange, Storm & Moon Knight, just shouldn't be Avengers. DD, Spidey & Moon Knight are solo-flyers, and the team thing... Doesn't feel right. The Thing, Storm & Wolverine, only feel comfortable connected with their parent teams. Doc Strange, Defender, nuff said, but I suppose Valkyrie also made a better Defender than Avenger.

I understand why heroes such as Spider-Man, Wolverine & Daredevil are in the Avengers, they are very popular in their own comics, so make perfect sense on a sales thing, but does that mean they should be Avengers just to boost it's popularity?

Sounds a cue for a future post, who should be an Avenger, and who shouldn't be an Avenger?
