Knights of Pendragon Vol 1

In 1990 Marvel UK released a comic called 'The Knights of Pendragon', which featured Captain Britain, Union Jack and Dai Thomas in quite a few issues, even Iron Man appeared from time to time. It ran for 18 issues.

Alan Davis penciled the covers of the first five issues, with lovely Captain Britain images. At first look you would think it's another superhero comic, but it wasn't. Yes it had heroes, but they were only secondary to the message. Message? There's a message? It was a very green message! This is what will happen if you don't look after your planet type message.

It was linked in with the Arthurian legend, and had characters wielding swords, killing demons, alongside the likes of Captain Britain, Union Jack, and Iron Man.

Comic Vine blurb -
The Knights of Pendragon are individuals who the Green Knight, a proclaimed mystical protector of Britain who lives in the Green Chapel in the realm of Avalon, places Pendragon spirits into which were the original spirits of the true Knights of the Round Table. The Green Knight is apparently subdued by an endless conflict with the Bane, who are lackeys of his sworn enemy, the Red Lord. Supposedly the Green Knight is a sort of real-life embodiment of Britain's nature while Bane have the sole purpose of endangering Britain. When this happens, The Green Knight sends Pendragon souls to unsuspecting individuals to help protect Britain.

This complete run has been reprinted in Graphic novel form
